The Municipal Government

Executive Body

• All departments and agencies are headed by the Municipal Mayor.

Legislative Body

• The vice mayor presides the Sanggunian Bayan comprising of 8 elected councilors and 2 ex -officio members.

Barangay units

• Mariveles has 18 barangays, 6 classified as urban centers, 7 as industrial areas and 5 barangays as agricultural areas.

Government Income

• In the year 2004, Mariveles posted an income of P127M and an expenditure of P107M. Income has registered a growth rate of from 1998 to 2004.

Infrastructure and Utilities

Electricity

Electricity is readily available from the Bataan Thermal Plant, only 30 kilometers away from the heart of Mariveles. The Edison Cogeneration located inside the Bataan Economic Zone provides more than adequate back-up power to ensure enterprises of uninterrupted power supply for their operations.

Water Supply

An abundant supply of potable water is provided by two (2) running water systems in the municipality. These are the Mariveles Water District (MARIWAD) which supply water to the 79% of its population and the Bataan Economic Zone Water System which supplies water to the more than 60 industrial firms and the two (2) barangays inside the EcoZone.

Communication Facilities

Communications within the municipality to other parts of the world and vice-versa can be established in a matter of seconds utilizing the state-of-the-art communication facilities available in the area. Postal and courier services include worldwide express delivery and modern amenities of electronic mail and internet. National dailies, radios, and televisions give the daily news update around the world.

Banking and Support Services

Four existing banks capable of handling international transactions stand ready to serve the banking needs of the industrial community. Four other local banks and 20 lending institutions cater to the financial needs of the entire municipality.

Various insurance companies, law and accounting offices, freight forwarders, truckers, and manpower services complement these financial services.
